
Stedman Cameron merged with Donaldson Trumble Lawyers from 1 July 2007
On that date, the records of Stedman Cameron, including all wills, titles and other deeds and documents held by Stedman Cameron were incorporated with those held by Donaldson Trumble Lawyers.
Old file records of Stedman Cameron dating back to 1983 are maintained on microfilm, or are scanned, and are held on site. Most law firms only hold seven years of records.
The merger brought to a close the successful practice started by J Colin Stedman and Mary Cameron in 1954.
Prior to 1954, Mr. Stedman practiced under his own name, and he had previously acquired the firm of Snowball of Kaufmann, where he had been articled (trained).
From 1954 the firm practiced as
J Colin Stedman and Cameron until the mid 60s.
Stedman Cameron Meares & Hall until 1985,

Stedman Cameron from 1985 until 2007.
David Whiting, the former sole principal of Stedman Cameron is a director of Donaldson Trumble Lawyers. He was a member of Stedman Cameron from 1991 until 2007.
