Peter Moran commenced practising as a lawyer at leading Australian law firm Allens Arthur Robinson, where he worked in the areas of corporate and commercial, tax and litigation.
Between 2006 and 2009 he was a partner at McCarthy Moran Lawyers, and in 2009 joined Donaldson Trumble Lawyers.
Peter has a broad range of commercial experiences with particular expertise in the commercial structuring and sale of businesses; corporate governance advice; insolvency; intellectual property; employment law; technology and telecommunications and franchising.
Peter's commercial litigation experience has involved appearing in all Victorian jurisdictions and the Federal and Federal Magistrates’ Courts and has included matters involving trademark and copyright disputes; debt recovery, breach of contract, restraints of trade; breaches of directors' and fiduciary duties; oppression and just & equitable winding ups; misleading and deceptive conduct claims and Australian Taxation Office disputes.
Peter also has experience in property, property development and leasing law as well as acting for executors and beneficiaries in probate matters, including will disputes and challenges.
Peter’s general approach, regardless of the area of law, is to listen carefully to the needs and problems of his clients; to try and explore all variety of options available to them and to then work with his clients towards achieving the most commercial, cost effective and expeditious of these options. Peter’s experience in both top tier and small law firms means he is uniquely experienced in understanding that all businesses, big and small, not only require legal advice which is thoroughly considered and accurate but which also helps them achieve a commercial outcome in a timely manner and at a cost proportionate to the outcome being achieved.
Peter is admitted as a barrister and solicitor in the Victorian Supreme Court and the High Court of Australia and is an Associate of the Taxation Institute of Australia.
